The ability to design, build and deliver a custom modular home is possibly the one thing Amazon has yet to figure out.

Thankfully, Kelowna-based company Built Prefab has launched a new online tool that allows users to do just that all from the comfort of their own home.

The "build and price" tool gives the public an opportunity to select a home, custom options and generate a full quote before talking to anyone.

From floorplans to fireplaces, users can design their new home online using the same software Built Prefab owners Ian Garrity and James Rosowsky have used for years.

When the pandemic hit, the two founders agreed to make the effective tool available to the public with the hopes it would inspire people to build an affordable dream home.

The process takes about 10-minutes and may remind some millennial users of building homes in the popular Sims video games.

However, unlike the Sims, if the user likes their build enough, Built Prefab can make living in it a reality.

If you would like more information on any of the options in the build and price tool.
