A trip to the grocery store is about to become a lot quicker for hundreds of residents in Kelowna’s Mission.

Save-On-Foods is set to open up shop in the new Ponds commercial development on Frost Road, the grocery store's seventh location in Kelowna.

The first customers will be allowed through the doors at 7 am on Thursday, June 13.

"We’re so proud of this store and the team here at Save-On-Foods Ponds,” said store manager Paul Davidson. “We can’t wait to show our customers the extra value, extra quality and extra service they’ll find in store.”

The anchor tenant of the new development will offer everything you’ve come to expect from other Save-On-Foods locations, including Darrell’s Deals.

“We are thrilled to bring the best of our brand to residents of Kelowna’s beautiful Upper Mission,” said Darrell Jones, president of Save-On-Foods' parent company, the Pattison Food Group.

“We’ve been serving Kelowna for many years and we look forward to sharing our unique shopping experience with our new neighbours at Mission Village at the Ponds.”

You can also expect top-quality meat and seafood, bakery, produce and floral departments, along with a Save-On-Foods Kitchen with signature sandwiches, fried chicken, soups, pizza, chicken wings, sushi and more.

To celebrate opening day on Thursday, 500 customers throughout the day will randomly receive a Save-On-Foods gift card for $10, but two of those will randomly have $500 loaded on them.

On Saturday, June 15, the first 500 customers will receive a free three-pound bag of navel oranges.

There will be hot prices and in-store specials all weekend long to celebrate the store’s long-awaited opening.

Save-On-Foods Ponds will be open seven days a week from 7 am until 10 pm.
