Local officials were on hand to welcome a new business to Kelowna over the weekend.

Lux Domus Furnishings held its grand opening on Saturday, which saw Mayor Tom Dyas, MLA Renee Merrifield and MP Tracy Gray help with the ceremonial ribbon cutting.

The store specializes in high-quality European furniture and decor, with a promise to bring unique and stylish options to the community.

Owner Miheala Rasovic, who was joined by her daughter Izabela for Saturday’s ribbon-cutting, will aim to provide exceptional products and personalized service to customers.

It’s been a long and arduous journey for Rasovic, who has raised three young children as a single mother since her husband’s unexpected death a decade ago.

She also lost her home to fire, but has persevered through it all to achieve her dream of opening Lux Domus Furnishings.

“Her business fills a much-needed niche in our community, offering unique European furniture and decor,” said a release about the store’s grand opening.

“Mihaela's resilience and determination are commendable, and we are confident that Lux Domus Furnishings will be a valuable addition to our local business market.”

You can find Lux Domus Furnishings at 104-1641 Commerce Ave. in Kelowna. You can also check them out online through their websiteFacebook and Instagram.
