The first Tesla store between the Lower Mainland and Calgary has officially opened its doors in Kelowna.

It’s a long-awaited moment for Tesla owners and prospective buyers, who will no longer have to travel to Vancouver to service their vehicles or purchase a new one.

The Tesla website says the service centre is open Mondays through Fridays from 8 am until 5 pm. The showroom is open from 10 am until 6 pm on Tuesdays through Fridays and 10 am until 5 pm on Saturdays.

According to Drive Tesla Canada, new vehicles are not expected to arrive at Kelowna’s new showroom for a month or two.

Vancouver-based developer Urban Design Group Architects Ltd. first proposed the 30,250 square foot Tesla dealership in Kelowna back in September 2023.

A $5.5-million building permit was issued by the City of Kelowna to West Kelowna’s Norson Construction just four months later.

The new Tesla dealership is located in the Airport Business Park at 3425 Circuit Rd. Tesla is also in the process of building a new 16-stall Supercharger at Orchard Park Shopping Centre.
