Everyone and their dog will be welcome when this craft brewery opens.

Unleashed is more than just a name, the proprietor plans to make it fully dog friendly.

"We've always had dogs in our lives," said brewmaster Mike Prytula. "So we just want people to come in, have a beer with their dog when they're out on a walk."

Prytula is launching Unleashed along with his wife Shantel Hordos and co-brewmaster Ashton Sykes.

"We don't really follow a style guideline or a specific type of beers," said Prytula who took a break from installing tanks at the Clement Avenue location to speak with KelownaNow.

For Prytula, a homebrewer for many years, it's the realization of a dream.

Over the years I've come up with about 40 different recipes and wanted to share it," he said, promising something for every taste.

"Everything from a light, crisp beer to a dark, dark heavy beer and everything in between."

The brewery is one of three in the same new business complex, along with 'Welton Arms' and 'The Office'.

And in the surrounding North End neighbourhood, there are several other craft breweries to choose from including Kettle River, Vice & Virtue, Rustic Reel, Redbird and Jackknife with the Kelowna Beer Institute and BNA not far away.

"To bring more breweries to the area and more different beers to the area is a bonus, not necessarily competition."

The brewery will feature seating for a hundred inside with a patio for 30 people and hopes to open in mid-May.
