1. Arizona, Wisconsin certify Biden’s election win as Trump pushes unsubstantiated fraud claims

 

Arizona election officials certified President-elect Joe Biden’s 2020 presidential victory on Monday, awarding him the state's 11 electoral votes. Accusations of voter fraud in Arizona by members of the Trump reelection campaign are unfounded according to the state attorney general. Wisconsin also certified election results yesterday after a recount in two counties, funded by the Trump campaign, which increased Biden's victory margin by 87 votes.
 

2. NFL orders two-day closure of team facilities to slow the spread of COVID-19

 

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said team facilities will be closed to in-person activities until Wednesday in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19 among players and staff. The closure comes after reports that some players and staff spent Thanksgiving with out-of-town visitors.
 

3. Court filings reveal a proposal to boost OxyContin sales with ‘overdose rebates’

 

According to the New York Times, shocking new court documents reveal that McKinsey & Company, the prestigious consulting firm, proposed having Purdue Pharma offer rebates to pharmacy companies for OxyContin overdoses as a way to boost sales during the height of the opioid crisis. 
 

4. Topshop owner Arcadia Group falls into administration

 

Sir Philip Green’s Arcadia Group, which owns Topshop, Burton, Dorothy Perkins and more, has officially gone into administration, putting at least 13,000 jobs at risk.

5. Farmers in India March to New Delhi in protest of new legislation

 

Farmers from different states in India marched to New Delhi in protest of the new central farm legislation. The government has agreed to hold discussions with the farmers and address their concerns.
