1. Bob Iger steps down as Disney CEO, Bob Chapek to replace him

Disney is swapping one Bob CEO for another. On Tuesday, news came out that Bob Iger would be stepping down as CEO of the multi-billion dollar company. Disney quickly announced that Bob Chapek, who most recently served as chairman of Disney parks, experiences and products, would be his replacement.


2. Stone tools found in India show supervolcano didn’t wipe out humans

A new discovery in northern India is challenging the theory that the Toba supervolcano eruption left humans on the brink of extinction. Initially, it was thought that the eruption pretty much wiped out humanity in that part of the world, but stone tools found in 2018 have shown that humans didn’t only survive the eruption, but thrived.


3. Maria Sharapova announces retirement at age 32

One of the world’s most polarizing and well-known tennis players over the last 15 years has announced her retirement. Maria Sharapova, 32, penned an essay in Vogue and Vanity Fair to announce her goodbye to the sport. Over her career, she won five Grand Slam titles and reached the number one ranking in the world on the women’s side. 


4. Prince Harry asks to be introduced as simply Harry at event

He’s technically still known as the Duke of Sussex, but it looks like “Prince” Harry is already embracing his life as a non-Royal. Speaking at an event in Edinburgh, one of his last as a working Royal, he asked to be introduced as simply Harry, rather than Prince Harry. 


5. France reports second coronavirus death as cases continue to grow

More than 80,000 cases of coronavirus have now been reported worldwide and a second person has died in France. The worldwide death toll is now over 2,700, but most are in China and other parts of Asia. Italy has now placed 50,000 people in quarantine, while other countries are introducing travel bans and other measures to try and prevent the spread of the disease.
