1. Venezuela blocks bridge to keep out humanitarian aid

Freight containers have been positioned across the road on the Venezuelan side of the bridge to Colombia. President Maduro’s regime seems to be serious about its threat to block humanitarian aid from entering the country. Canada, the United States and other countries are desperately trying to provide aid to the people of Venezuela.

2. The Simpsons gets renewed for another 2 seasons

It’s the show that never ends. The Simpsons has been renewed once again for seasons 31 and 32. The show is currently in the middle of season 30 and is the longest-running T.V. series in history. By the end of the 32nd season, the show will have aired 713 episodes.

3. Bomb threat forces Norwegian Air plane to make emergency landing

A Norwegian Air plane carrying 169 people was forced to make an emergency landing today. The plane was en route to southern France, but was forced to turn back to Stockholm’s Arlanda Airport after a reported bomb threat. The plane only made it about an hour into its journey.

4. Legendary broadcaster Bob Cole calls his final game in Toronto

On Wednesday, Bob Cole called his final game in Toronto as the Maple Leafs hosted the Ottawa Senators. Cole has been calling hockey games for 50 years and called his first Leafs game for Hockey Night in Canada on Oct. 13, 1973. The legendary broadcaster received a video tribute in the building.

5. 5 dead after heavy flooding in Rio de Janeiro

There’s significant flooding in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and it’s resulted in the death of five people. Multiple parts of the city are underwater after it was hit by heavy rain. Videos show various levels of damage and rushing water up to people’s knees in some areas.
