2. Tesla reducing staff by 7%

Elon Musk and Tesla’s troubles look like they’re continuing, as Musk announced on Friday that 7% of the company’s full-time employees will be laid off. The company grew by 30% in 2018, but has realized they can’t support that growth. Only the most critical temps and contractors will be retained.

3. People are using the 10-year challenge to show what’s happening to the planet

The 10-year challenge is just another internet fad, but some are using it as a chance to show what’s happening to our planet. It mostly involves things shrinking, like rivers, lakes, forests, glaciers and more, and it certainly is creating a discussion about how we’re treating our planet.

Beloved poet Mary Oliver died at the age of 83 on Thursday. The Pulitzer Prize-winning poet passed away of lymphoma at her home in Florida. 5. Australian Open match goes past 3 a.m.

Many tennis fans are calling for a new rule or changes after an Australian Open match went on until past 3 a.m. on Thursday. In the end, Spain’s Garbiñe Muguruza knocked off Britain’s Johanna Konta 6-4, 6-7, 7-5 to advance to the 3rd round of the Grand Slam.
