1. Angela Merkel’s picture from the G7 Summit is getting lots of attention

A picture from this weekend’s G7 Summit is getting lots of attention. The photo, released by the office of German chancellor Angela Merkel, shows Merkel and other world leaders standing around President Trump. The photo, taken by Jesco Denzel, is already being called an iconic political photo.


2. Rafael Nadal wins his 11th French Open title

Will there ever be another tennis player that’s as dominant on the clay surface as Rafael Nadal? It’ll be tough to match the Spaniard’s resume after he won his 11th French Open title over the weekend. The 32-year-old shows no sign of slowing down and is now the number one ranked player in the world heading into the grass court season.


3. A memorial for Anthony Bourdain is growing outside of Les Halles

It’s been three days since world famous chef and TV host Anthony Bourdain took his own life. In that time, a memorial has been steadily growing outside Les Halles, the restaurant where Bourdain got his start in the 1990s.


4. Alex Ovechkin continued his wild tour with the Stanley Cup over the weekend

If you had any doubt about how happy Alex Ovechkin is to have finally won a Stanley Cup, just take a look at his weekend. The Russian superstar was all over the place at the Washington Nationals game, did a keg stand out of the cup and was even seen swimming around in a public fountain with fans. How can you not love this guy?!


5. Robert De Niro gets a standing ovation for saying “F*** Trump” at the Tony Awards

There were two standings ovations at the Tony Awards on Sunday. The first was for Parkland students singing Seasons of Love from the musical Rent. The second was Robert De Niro, who was on stage to introduce Bruce Springsteen, simply saying “F*** Trump.” The words were censored on the North American broadcast, but not in Australia!
