1. Donald Trump cancels summit with Kim Jong Un

The planned summit between Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un on June 12 is no longer going to happen. President Trump sent a letter directly to the North Korean Leader on Thursday, saying that it feels inappropriate to have this long-planned meeting after Kim Jong Un’s most recent statement. In that statement, North Korea called Mike Pence a “political dummy.”


2. Gwyneth Paltrow reveals what Brad Pitt said to Harvey Weinstein

Gwyneth Paltrow has spilled the beans on what Brad Pitt said to Harvey Weinstein after Weinstein made a pass at Paltrow in 1995. Pitt told Weinstein, “if you ever make her feel uncomfortable again, I’ll kill you.” Paltrow said Pitt leveraged his fame and power to protect her at a time when she had no fame or power.


3. Hamilton and Regina to face off in Memorial Cup semis, Acadie-Bathurst awaits

After a thrilling finish between the Regina Pats and Swift Current Broncos on Wednesday, the round robin portion of the 2018 Memorial Cup is over. The Pats and Hamilton Bulldogs will face off in Friday night’s semifinal and the winner will move on to play the Acadie-Bathurst Titan in the finals on Sunday. The Swift Current Broncos are out of the tournament.


4. Van-surfing cat reaches speeds of 60 mph

It looked like this cat was going to need to use one of its nine lives, but it clung on for dear life and is okay. Video shows the cat, named Rebel, on top of a van that’s speeding down the highway at 60 mph. KETV in Omaha later caught up to the cat and van’s owners and has confirmed that the van-surfing kitty is perfectly fine after the scary ride.


5. Matt Groening’s new show comes to Netflix in August

The much anticipated new animated show from Matt Groening comes out later this summer. The show is called Disenchantment and it’s the latest work from the Simpsons and Futurama creator. The show’s writing staff also includes a number of writers from those two shows as well, which has fans anxiously waiting for the Aug. 17 release date.
