1. White House plans to suspend Jim Acosta’s press credentials again

The saga between the White House and Jim Acosta has taken another turn. After Acosta’s press credentials were originally suspended by the White House, a federal judge ruled ordered that the decision be reversed. However, the White House has now sent the CNN correspondent a letter saying that his press access will once again be revoked when the temporary court order expires.


2. Red alert issued after Volcano of Fire erupts in Guatemala

At least 10 communities have been asked to evacuate following the eruption of Guatemala’s Volcano of Fire. A red alert was issued after the volcanic activity was spotted overnight and officials are now monitoring the intensity of the eruptions. The volcano is just 16 kilometres west of Antigua, a major tourist destination.


3. Canadian curlers booted from competition for being ‘extremely drunk’

If you’re curling with some friends in a recreational league once a week, chances are that you’ll have a couple of pints while you play. This is new one, however, because over the weekend, a former Olympian’s team playing in the Red Deer Classic got so “extremely drunk” that they were booted from the tournament. Jamie Koe’s rink was so rowdy and destructive, they received multiple complaints from spectators before being kicked out of the competition.


4. Fantastic Beasts 2 has the worst opening weekend of any Harry Potter movie

On Friday, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald debuted in theatres with a fair bit of hype behind it. That hype didn’t translate into success at the box office though, and it ended up with the worst opening weekend of any movie in the Harry Potter franchise. It wasn’t even close either...


5. The Rams and the Chiefs Monday Night Football game has everyone talking

If you’re even the slightest bit of a football fan, you’ll want to tune in to Monday Night Football this evening. In the most hyped up regular season game in some time. The Los Angeles Rams (9-1) are set to host the Kansas City Chiefs (9-1) in what could easily be a Super Bowl preview. With Patrick Mahomes and Jared Goff, Kareem Hunt and Todd Gurley and Tyreek Hill and Brandin Cooks all in action, it promises to be a high scoring, exciting game.
