1. Saudis beat Argentina in historic World Cup upset

Saudi Arabia has defeated Argentina in one of the biggest shocks in the history of the World Cup. The Saudis, ranked 51st in the world, came from a goal behind to beat the two-time world champions, who are captained by Lionel Messi.

2. Leno poses for photo after hospital release

American comic Jay Leno has posed for a photograph for the first time since he was burned in a fire at his Los Angeles home. The 72-year-old spent 10 days in hospital after the accident.

3. FAA proposes rules for flying taxis

Flying taxis could be one step closer to becoming reality after regulators in the US published a set of rules to formally govern the use of the futuristic vehicles. The FAA said the rules will now go through a period of public consultation before going into effect.

4. 'Bondi Beast' finally identified decades after first attack

Australian police have identified a serial rapist known as the "Bondi Beast" almost 40 years after his first attack. Keith Simms, who is now dead, attacked 31 women between 1985 and 2001, at times entering their homes or targeting them as they jogged.

5. Man jailed for allowing cows to roam the streets

A man in the Indian state of Gujarat has been jailed for six months after letting his cows roam the streets. Prakash Jairam Desai was found guilty of letting the animals loose and endangering the public.

In happier news, European scientists have pledged to investigate whether electricity could be wirelessly beamed to Earth from space. The European Space Agency wants to find out if having huge solar farms in space would be cost effective.
