1. World's largest active volcano erupting

The world's largest active volcano has erupted for the first time in four decades. In a notice today, the US Geological Survey said Hawaii's Mauna Loa was not threatening communities, but warned that could change.

2. Kardashian 're-evaluating' relationship with Balenciaga

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian has said she is "re-evaluating" her relationship with Balenciaga after the fashion firm apologized for posting photographs that critics said sexualized children. The snaps showed kids holding teddy bears wearing bondage equipment and text from a US Supreme Court ruling relating to child pornography.

3. Protests in China continue

Rare protests against the Chinese government have stretched into a second night. Citizens have been expressing their frustration with the Communist Party's extreme COVID-19 lockdowns.

4. Men arrested for trying to kill gang member in hospital

Seven men have been arrested after being accused of storming a hospital with the intention of murdering a wounded teenager being treated there. Police said the 17-year-old patient, known as "Dirty Face," is thought to be a gang member who was recently shot.

5. Bob Dylan sorry amid signature brouhaha 

Bob Dylan has apologized for using a machine to replicate his signature on special edition copies of his books and art. He claimed he developed vertigo in 2019, which prevented him from manually signing items.

And lastly...

In happier news, archaeologists have announced the discovery of a "treasure trove" of Roman artefacts beneath a farmer's field in England. A dig at the site has unveiled buildings, mosaics and other historical goodies.
