1. Venezuela denies responsibility for oil spills in Brazil
Brazil’s president has said he’s “almost certain” that an oil spill that has impacted beaches in northeastern Brazil was a criminal act committed by Venezuela. In response, Venenzuela’s state-owned oil company issued a statement saying the allegations made by Brazil are completely unfounded.
For more than a month, oil from an unknown source has been washing up on beaches across NE #Brazil.

2. We’re down to 4 teams in the MLB playoffs and the next round begins tonight
The Houston Astros beat the Tampa Bay Rays in a do-or-die game five on Thursday. That means the MLB playoff field is down to four teams. The St. Louis Cardinals and Washington Nationals will begin the NLCS in St. Louis tonight, while the Astros travel to New York to take on the Yankees in the ALCS, which begins on Saturday.

3. The Breaking Bad movie is out
Breaking Bad fans are certainly giddy today and not just because it’s Friday. The series’ new movie, El Camino, is now available to watch on Netflix and it’s likely been watched by millions already in the first few hours that it’s been available.

4. The world’s first spacewalker has died
Alexei Leonov has passed away at the age of 85. While it’s a name that many won’t recognize, Leonov was a pioneer in the world of space exploration. The Russian cosmonaut was the world’s first spacewalker, doing so in March of 1965.
Alexei Leonov, who in 1965, became the first human to conduct a spacewalk, died today, in Moscow. The Siberian-born cosmonaut was 85. Leonov was also an accomplished artist & worked in banking after retiring from space exploration. pic.twitter.com/HYZw6OUxs0

5. Steve Kerr addresses Trump insults
Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr has never been quiet with his criticism of President Donald Trump. Recently, his commentary on the situation between the NBA and China prompted Trump to call Kerr “a little girl,” which got this response from Kerr on Thursday: “I was the shiny object yesterday. There was a new one today. There will be a new one tomorrow. The circus goes on.”
