2. Separated couple awarded joint custody of dog
A Spanish judge has granted joint custody of a dog to a separated couple. The "pioneering" ruling was made after the couple went to court to settle who the pooch, named Panda, would live with.

3. US begins Assange extradition appeal
The US government has begun its legal appeal against a British court's ruling that Wikileaks founder Julian Assange should not be extradited. Assange is wanted over his publication of thousands of sensitive, classified documents belonging to the US in 2010 and 2011.

4. Senators recommend charges against President Bolsonaro
Senators in Brazil have voted to recommend charging President Jair Bolsonaro over his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic in the South American country. Among the recommendations is the charge of crimes against humanity.

5. Player becomes world's sole openly gay man in top-level soccer
