1. Thousands evacuated after huge explosion at Ukrainian ammo depot

There were ongoing explosion at a Ukrainian ammunition depot  this morning. Thousands of residents were evacuated due to the massive blasts, which lit up the night sky. No casualties have been reported yet, but this is reportedly the fifth blast at Ukrainian ammo depot in the past three years.


2. Google has shut down its social networking site

Remember when Google tried to match Facebook with a social networking site of its own? Well, if you didn’t, it doesn’t matter now because Google has shut Google+ down. This comes after a Wall Street Journal scoop that the site exposed private data of hundreds of thousands of users.


3. Drew Brees becomes the NFL’s all-time leading passer

Move over Peyton Manning, the NFL has a new all-time leader in career passing yards. In the spotlight of Monday Night Football, Drew Brees passed Manning to become the league’s all-time leading passer. The 39-year-old did so in style too, with a 62-yard touchdown pass to Tre’Quan Smith.


4. Busy Philipps says James Franco assaulted her on set

Another assault allegation has been made against actor and director James Franco. Busy Philipps alleges in her upcoming memoir that Franco shouted at her and pushed her to the ground on the set of Freaks and Geeks. Philipps said he “grabbed both my arms and screamed in my face” and called him a “f***ing bully.”


5. NLCS set, Red Sox pound Yankees

The National League Championship Series is set. The Los Angeles Dodgers disposed of the Atlanta Braves yesterday and they’ll meet the Milwaukee Brewers for a chance to represent the NL in the World Series. Meanwhile, the Boston Red Sox pounded the New York Yankees 16-1 on Monday to take a 2-1 series lead. Boston’s Brock Holt became the first player in MLB history to hit for the cycle in the win.
