Five things you need to know

1. Scrabble adds hundreds of words to official dictionary

It’s finally OK to use OK in scrabble. The two letter “word” is one of 296 new words to be added to the game’s official dictionary. Another two letter word was added in “ew.” You can also get away with using new words like sheeple, macaron, zomboid, puggle, nubber and qapik.

2. Rare 2-headed snake found in Virginia

Well, this is certainly the stuff of nightmares. A baby copperhead snake with a pair of heads was found earlier this month in north Virginia. The crazy creature was found in someone’s yard and professionals are now caring for the snake. If it survives, it’ll be donated to a zoo for an educational exhibit.

3. The world will have a new longest flight in a couple of weeks

Singapore Air will make the first commercial flight between Singapore and Newark Liberty International Airport on Oct. 1. The flight was originally planned for four years ago but was scrapped. Now it’s being revived and the 19-hour flight will become the world’s longest flight. The airbus being used is capable of flying about 20 hours non-stop.

4. It was a weekend of upsets in the NFL

If you like to gamble on football, you’ve probably lost some money so far this season. There’s been no shortage of upsets around the league and that certainly didn’t change on Sunday. Buffalo beat Minnesota, Detroit beat New England, Tennessee beat Jacksonville and Washington beat Green Bay, all considered significant shockers.

5. Ohio residents throw Christmas parade for young boy with terminal cancer

A young boy in Colerain Township, Ohio may not make it to Christmas, so the locals took action. Brody Allen was given two months to live after being diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer. On Sunday, friends and family joined together to help the two-year-old celebrate his favourite holiday early. The city even shut down one of the town’s roads to hold a Christmas parade and fireworks show.
