There’s no doubt that 911 gets a fair number of calls that aren’t exactly emergencies.

There are plenty of reasons why people find the need to unnecessarily call 911, but you won’t find a more Canadian one than this.

A Manitoba man dialed the RCMP’s emergency line on Valentine’s Day, asking where he could rent a Zamboni for an upcoming hockey tournament.

Sure, finding a Zamboni to scrape the ice is important for any hockey tournament, it’s certainly not worthy of a call to the police though.

Unsurprisingly in this day and age, the Manitoba RCMP took to Twitter to poke fun at the call and remind people that 911 isn’t for these type of calls.

“We understand that in Canada, this could be an emergency to some, however this is not a valid reason to dial 911,” the tweet said.

It’s safe to say that most people understand that, which meant that the majority of replies to the tweet were simply trying to add their own joke to the comical situation.

One user, however, called the RCMP out for using a photo of an Olympia ice resurfacer while referring to a Zamboni.

Many people forget, but Zamboni is just a brand, not the actual name of the machine, kind of like how Kleenex is simply a brand of face tissue!
