A B.C. couple has taken their love for all things horror to the next level.

Todd and Nicole Cameron of Nanaimo, B.C. drew inspiration from the 1979 classic “Alien” when creating their maternity photo shoot.

The couple has been together for almost five years and met on Halloween. The two bonded over their love of the spooky holiday, crafting and, of course, laughter.

When Nicole became pregnant, she and her husband knew that they did not want to do an ordinary maternity photoshoot.

While out at a garage sale, Todd came across a model of an Alien Chestburster and instantly took it home and started planning the perfect shoot.

“Nicole wasn't interested in a traditional maternity shoot so our planning began,” said Todd.

“I took care of the general storyline and props including the hand-carved pumpkin ‘alien pod’ and Nicole took care of finding our wardrobe.”

With the help of local photographer Li Carter, the idea came to fruition.

“She was definitely excited from the first message and found our idea hilarious but not surprising,” said Todd.

The full shoot starts off as most maternity photoshoots do, with the couple staring at each other lovingly while ogling over the soon to be baby.

Things start to take a turn as Nicole begins to experience extreme pain while an Alien Chestburster makes its way through her stomach, spraying fake blood everywhere.

In one of the scenes, you can see Todd chasing his new “baby” down.

The rest of the photoshoot shows the love between new mom, dad and alien.

“The funniest part for us was lying in a cold wet field, covered in fake blood and just laughing our hearts out, hoping that the farm hands wouldn't drive by and see us in our current conditions,” said Todd.

Since posting the photos on Facebook, they have received over 300,000 shares.

“The response has been crazy but so much fun! We originally just planned for family and friends but it has gone absolutely insane!”

Todd and Nicole are pleased with the results and are not too picky about what gender the soon to be baby is, as long as it’s human.
