Two surrogate dog mothers have been brought into the Victoria Human Society to help out with a litter of orphaned puppies.

According to the Victoria Humane Society, the litter of 11 golden retriever puppies lost their mother during an emergency caesarean section.

In order to nurse the puppies, two dog mothers, including a Bernese mountain dog and a golden retriever, were brought in and were more than happy to help. Two mothers were needed in order to ensure both dogs received some well deserved time off. Because, as we know, it takes a village to raise a baby, let alone 11!

Both dog moms were nursing their own kids at the same time they were taking care of the 11 pups. Talk about a tough job!

Penny Stone, Victoria Humane Society director, claimed that the dogs took on the puppies as if they were their own and were even sad to see them go.

The puppies are only days old and it will be some time until they are ready for adoption.

Way to go moms! Your job here is done.
