For most, a screw up at work usually results in a minor reprimand and a lesson learned.

The fallout may be a bit greater for whoever is in charge of the Pentagon’s Twitter account after they retweeted a tweet that called for President Donald Trump to resign from the presidency.

The tweet from Twitter user @ProudResister called for Roy Moore to step down from the Senate race and  Al Franken and Trump to all step down from their respective positions.

It was called for the Republican Party to “stop making sexual assault a partisan issue.”

The Pentagon quickly redacted the accidental retweet and spokesperson Dana White offered the following explanation.

“An authorized operator of the Department of Defense’s official Twitter site erroneously retweeted content that would not be endorsed by the Department of Defense,” she said.

“The operator caught this error and immediately deleted it.”

The Pentagon didn’t say whether the employee responsible was fired or not.
