It’s one of the most effective treatments for combating monsters under the bed or ghosts hiding in the closet.

That’s according to Prince George pharmacist Jepal Patel, who recently prescribed “monster spray” to help with a local boy’s fear of the dark.

In a Facebook community page, the boy’s mother Heather Garfield expressed her appreciation to the Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacist in a post that's been shared over 2,000 times.

"My youngest has been having a fear of the dark and all the scary things that might come out. I asked the pharmacy if they could make me a monster spray label and even though they were busy they were happy to do it," said Garfield on Facebook.

"I love our shoppers location and the way they take care of our family he is so excited for bed tonight...and so is mama lol."

The post has since received an update, informing the group page that it took a couple of nights for the spray to work, but Jakob is now sleeping in his own bed for the first time in months.

Hundreds of group members have commented in the post, with one of them being the pharmacist Patel herself.

“I am so glad that I was able to help,” wrote Patel.

“We will continue to keep up the good work.”
