When worrying about the potential dangers of skiing, few people are likely to think of being chased by a moose.

But a viral video has reminded those who delight in the winter sport to be cautious of wildlife as well as the usual hazards.

In the clip, posted on Instagram last week by user “Lo Dro”,  group of skiers can be seen near an apparently curious male moose.

But after a few moments walking around on the run, the huge mammal charges full-speed at the skiers.

They then flee down the run in desperation.

Lo Dro, who filmed the footage in Breckenridge, Colorado, wrote: “Getting chased by a moose was never on the bucket list, but I’ll go ahead and check that one off anyways.

“But on a more serious note, moose are fast, aggressive and VERY dangerous. If you come across one on the slopes, in town, or in the wild, keep your distance and respect the wildlife.”
