The latest exhibit at the Kelowna Art Gallery features work from three female Indigenous artists.

Mariel Belanger, Tsēmā Igharas and Tiffany Shaw-Collinge explore ways of remembering and reinterpreting their ancestor’s culture and practices.

For the exhibit, called Her Body Will Remember, all three artists were asked to consider the practice of “making” and their body’s memories of practice and technology through this process.

The result was the use of innovative materials and technologies to revisit the ingenuity of Indigenous arts practices that have been passed down through generations.

Visitors to Her Body Will Remember will be treated to a variety of work across two exhibition spaces that comprise the show.

It was curated by Dr. Erin Sutherland and it’ll be on view at the art gallery until Sept. 8, 2019.
