Residents who were looking to ski at Revelstoke Mountain Resort were treated with some bad news on Sunday.

According to the resort, the mountain was closed due to "extreme avalanche hazard." The closure comes out of an abundance of caution.

The decision to close the resort was made shortly before 9 am.

Thankfully, no incidents were reported prior to the decision.

At this time, the mountain is expected to be reopened tomorrow, though that is not definite.
