It’s an event that so many in the softball community look forward to every summer, but it’ll have to wait until 2021.

The Funtastic Sports Society announced today that the 2020 Funtastic A&W Music Festival and Slo Pitch tournament has been cancelled due to concerns surrounding COVID-19.

It was scheduled to be held from June 26-30 in Vernon, with satellite tournaments in Enderby and Port Alberni as well.

“In light of the growing concerns around COVID-19, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel the funtastic slo pitch tournament and music festival,” said Ryan McGivern, president of the FSS.

The unknown duration of the pandemic has the directors of the FSS concerned for the health and safety of the participants. We hope to see you in 2021!”

Any team registered for this year’s tournament in Vernon will get priority registration for 2021.

Work towards the 2021 music lineup is already underway and tickets will be available online starting on July 1, 2020.

The 2021 tournament will run from July 1-4.
