(UPDATE: July 9 @ 9:15 am) – A high streamflow advisory has ended for the South Interior and Southeast BC.
The BC River Forecast Centre issued the advisory Sunday, July 3.
The following rivers and tributaries are now considered all clear:

Similkameen River and tributaries
-
Okanagan and tributaries through the region including Mission Creek
-
Boundary including tributaries in the Kettle and Granby Rivers
-
West Kootenay including the Slocan River, Duhamel Creek and tributaries around the region
-
East Kootenay including the Kootenay River and tributaries through the region
“The weather forecast for the upcoming 10‐days predicts relatively dry conditions and river levels are expected to continue to decrease,” explains the BCRFC.
This spring’s delayed snowmelt and cooler spring temperatures, plus an unsettled weather pattern, resulted in relatively high flows in the southern part of the province.
However, because the flows remain high for this time of year, they continue to be vulnerable to short-term sudden rain events.

(Original story: July 3 @ 9:40 am) – A high streamflow advisory has been issued for the South Interior and Southeast BC Sunday.
According to the BC River Forecast Centre, a period of unsettled weather is expected to sweep across the southern half of the province.
“On Sunday, showers with potential thunder showers are forecasted across the region,” explains the agency.
“On Monday, an upper low is expected to track across south-west BC, bringing wrap-around precipitation with the potential for heavier rainfall and thundershowers to areas in the South Interior and Kootenays.”
The areas under the high streamflow advisory include:
