The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure says the highway will be open with no stoppages from Oct. 7 at noon to Oct. 11 at noon.
After the long weekend, the highway will close once again until Dec. 1 which will result in motorists having to take a detour via highways 97 and 95.
The final phase of the Kicking Horse Canyon Project covers nearly five kilometres of difficult terrain and is not expected to be completed until the winter of 2023-24.
