Conservation officers have caught a lynx that has been spotted several times in residential areas in Kamloops.

Lynx are reclusive animals and normally avoid humans and populated areas, said conservation.

The lynx captured was an adult female. It was taken to the BC Wildlife Park for care and assessment.

If deemed health, the lynx will be released back into the wild.
