Police in the Interior worked hard to get a number of alleged thieves off the road this week.

According to RCMP, the month of November saw a trend of truck thefts in the Ashcroft and Cache Creek communities. All together, officers responded to reports of five stolen trucks, two attempted thefts and four vehicle recoveries.

Following these incidents, two suspects were arrested. The suspects, who can't be named at this time, have been given strict conditions not to set foot in the two communities.

"We have arrested two suspects in relation to the recent spike in vehicle thefts," said Acting Sgt. Cory Lepine. "but there is still a need for us all to take the necessary steps to protect our property."

Anyone who witnesses theft should contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
