The COVID-19 pandemic is not over yet and schools in the Thompson-Okanagan are feeling the virus.
According to Interior Health, 21 different schools between Kelowna, Kamloops, Penticton, Lake Country, West Kelowna and Vernon have had students test positive for COVID. These 21 exposures all took place between Oct. 13 and 19.
Kelowna has the most incidents with nine different schools reporting cases. This includes Kelowna Christian School, Okanagan Christian School, Canyon Falls Middle School, Dr Knox Middle School, Rutland Secondary, Raymer Elementary, South Kelowna Elementary and Ecole Dorothea Elementary.
School District 23 had three more exposures in Lake Country and West Kelowna. The schools involved were Ecole HS Grenda Middle School, George Elliot Secondary and Constable Neil Bruce Middle School.
Vernon saw the next highest number of cases with five schools recording carriers. That included Charles Bloom Secondary, Coldstream Elementary, Ecole Beairsto Elementary, Mission Hill Elementary and Vernon Christian School.
School District 73 had just three exposures. The Kamloops schools involved were AE Perry Elementary, Kay Bingham Elementary and the Twin Rivers Education Centre.
Penticton had only a single case. It occurred at KVR Middle School.
