Three search and rescue teams in the Interior region partnered up to rescue a pair of stranded hikers earlier this week.
Early on the morning of Feb. 14, members of Fernie, Cranbrook and Kimberely search and rescue headed up towards the Lakit Lake area after receiving a call for a rescue.
Lakit Lake is about 30 kilometres north of Cranbrook and 50 km east of Kimberly.
The two hikers were stuck on a steep slope of a mountain and had to be rescued by the helicopter long line team.
Fortunately, the rescue task was easy and no injuries were reported.
The Cranbrook search and rescue crews assessed the two hikers before sending them to the hospital to be checked over.
