UPDATE: 2 people arrested following armed robbery in the Interior

(UPDATE: Sept 26 @ 4:45 pm) - Two people have been arrested in relation to an armed robbery in 100 Mile House on Thursday. 

According to Cpl. Jason Nash, the suspects were located and arrested on Saturday. Police received help from local businesses to identify the suspects who robbed the Cariboo Husky Service Station. 

"An off-duty member observed the vehicle and suspects parked at a local business and they were both arrested without incident," said Nash. "Both suspects were held for a bail hearing and have been remanded into custody at this time."

The male suspect was identified as 25-year-old Keldon Rivard while the 26-year-old female was found to be Mahayla Miller. 

Prior to the arrest for the armed robbery, Rivard had two outstanding arrest warrants. Both suspects were charged. 

"The investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone who may have been in the area of Birch Avenue between First Street and Horse Lake Road, between the hours of 1:15 and 1:45 pm on September 23rd, 2021, and witnessed any suspicious people, vehicles or has access to dashboard camera footage, to contact the 100 Mile House RCMP Detachment."

(Original Story: Sept. 25 @ 8 am) - Police in the BC Interior are investigating following an armed robbery in 100 Mile House on Thursday. 

According to RCMP, sometime during the afternoon, a suspect entered the Cariboo Husky Service Station at 315 Highway 97. Once inside, the suspect produced a weapon and demanded all the cash from the register. 

Nothing else was taken and no one was hurt during the offense.
