Police in the BC Interior are on the lookout for a woman who may be going around purchasing items with counterfeit currency.
According to RCMP, a woman went into Freshco in 100 Mile House and proceeded to buy items with a fake US $50 bill. Officers are looking for the woman who committed the act over the holiday weekend.
The woman is described as Caucasian with brown hair. At the time of the incident, she was wearing a black jacket.
This is the second time police in the Interior received reports of residents using counterfeit currency. Earlier in the week, a man turned himself into RCMP after using fake currency at a local Tim Hortons.
The man, who was well-known to police, repaid the store owner in full and apologized for his actions. The owner was satisfied with the outcome of the incident.
Anyone with information on counterfeit currency in the Interior is urged to contact 100 Mile House RCMP at (250)395-2456.
