Police in Southern BC are investigating after the sudden death of a Trail man on Sunday.

According to RCMP, at 8:41 pm, officers and the BC Ambulance Service were called to the 3500 block of Laburnum Drive after hearing about an unresponsive patient. Upon arrival, officers found an elderly man in medical distress inside a common area of the apartment.

Sadly, paramedics declared the man dead at the scene.

The BC Coroners Service was then notified. They are also conducting an investigation into what exactly killed the man.

Due to privacy of the deceased, the man's name is not being released.

Investigators do not believe that criminality was involved in the death.
