One of the B.C. Interior’s most popular summer attractions is about to reopen.

The Pipe Mountain Coaster in Revelstoke will open for the summer season on Friday, May 17.

The unique single-track coaster, which is entering its fourth year in service, can reach speeds of up to 42 kilometres per hour while winding its way 1.4km down the mountain.

Riders control their own speed, making it a fun activity for almost any age.

“The unique cart design allows you to ride individually or tandem with small children,” Revelstoke’s website says about the ride.

“Since you have 100% control over your excitement factor, it is great for all ages – just be warned you are going to want to ride it again and again.”

From opening day until June 21, the Pipe Mountain Coaster will be open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. daily.

Starting on June 22, the hours will be extended to 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. until the Labour Day long weekend, when they revert back to 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
