Interior RCMP looking for suspect after 3 young women groped

Mounties in the Shuswap region are investigating an alleged sexualy assault that occured on Thursday, May 12 .

Around 5 pm, three young women reported being groped by an unknown man at the corner of 30th Street NE and 9th Avenue NE in Salmon Arm.

The man allegedly groped the young women, near a Tim Hortons, and ran towards the Trans-Canada Highway. 

The victims called police right away to provide a description and file the report.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, about 6’ tall with a medium build. He was not clean-shaven and had a raspy voice. He was last seen wearing a surgical mask, a dark hoodie, baggy sweat pants and blue and green sunglasses.

Police attended the area and patrolled the surrounding neighborhood but were unable to locate the suspect.

“The Salmon arm RCMP continue to investigate this offence and are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the suspect,” said S/Sgt Scott West.
