Dr. Bonnie Henry spoke to British Columbians this afternoon with her daily COVID-19 address.
According to Henry, there are 10 new cases of COVID-19 in the province, bringing the provincial total to 2,517. There were two additional deaths due to the virus, bumping up BC's total to 157.
Thankfully, 2,057 people have now recovered from the virus.
Fraser Health continued to lead the way with the most COVID-19 cases in the province at 1,244. They were followed by Vancouver Coastal Health with 890, 194 in Interior Health, 127 in Vancouver Island Health, and 62 in the Northern Health Region.
Henry was excited to announce that, for the first time "in a while," there were no new cases in residential care homes. Right now, 14 long term care or assisted living facilities are dealing with outbreaks.
At this point, there are still 303 active cases of COVID-19 in BC. Of that number, 39 are hospitalized while another eight are in the Intensive Care Unit.
Henry urged residents to continue practicing physical distancing and if you have to spend time with people in groups, doing so outside is much safer than being indoors.
