British Columbia is reporting 525 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, this brings the total number of active cases in the province to 5,282.
From the new/active cases this is where they are coming from in each region:

Fraser Health: 187 new cases (1,711 active)

Interior Health: 147 new cases (1,167 active)

Northern Health: 79 new cases (921 active)

Island Health: 61 new cases (619 active)

Vancouver Coastal Health: 51 new cases (822 active)

No new cases of people who reside outside of Canada (42 active)
The number of out of country cases has increased due to a data clean up, and reassignment of cases previously reported as Vancouver Coastal Health residents being identified as normally residing outside of Canada.
There are currently 332 people in hospital with 155 of those individuals in intensive care.
In the past 24 hours there has been one new death reported in Vancouver Coastal Health, this brings the provincial pandemic death toll to 1,900.
During today’s COVID-19 update, Minister of Health Adrian Dix, announced that 511 non-urgent scheduled surgeries have been postponed from Sept. 12-18 due to COVID-19 overrun hospitals.
This is where surgeries were postponed in each region over those dates:
Interior Health: 176
Northern Health: 167
Vancouver Coastal Health: 87
Fraser Health: 47
Island Health: 34
Over two weeks (Sept. 5-18) there have been 798 surgical postponements.
There has been one new health care-facility outbreak in Island Health, for a total of 22 active outbreaks in the province:

After factoring for age, people who are not vaccinated are 33.1 times more likely to be hospitalized than those who are fully vaccinated (both shots).
Since December 2020, the province has administered 7,725,586 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
From the eligible people 12 and older in BC, 87% (4,031,909) have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 79.5% (3,685,799) have received their second dose.
Of the eligible adults in BC, 87.5% (3,785,801) have received their first dose and 80.4% (3,476,203) received their second dose.
