The calendar has shifted into July and as BC continues on with Phase 3 of its restart plan officials continue to report that the province has successfully flattened the curve.

However, while British Columbians are finally being encouraged to travel within their province and even visit a movie theatre or restaurant, Canada’s densely populated centres to the east are struggling to contain the pandemic.

Here’s how total cases, deaths and recoveries from the virus break down for each province as of July 2:

Canada's first case was discovered on January 25, nearly two months later the country surpassed 1,000 cases.

The drastic spike in daily case numbers followed that, doubling to 2,000 cases in just three days before doubling again to  4,000 cases by March 26.

Before the end of April, there were 30,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Canada.
