For the second day in a row, Interior Health reported six new cases of COVID-19.

That brings the total number of cases in the region to 485 since the start of the pandemic.

Currently, there are 23 active cases and all but one are self-isolating at home.

The only one not self-isolating at home is currently in hospital, although IH hasn’t said whether they’re in intensive care.

It’s the first hospitalization due to COVID-19 in the region in weeks.

The only active outbreak is the Teck Coal Mines outbreak, which was declared Aug. 27.

However, it doesn’t involve any IH residents, as all workers who tested positive did so upon returning home to Alberta or Vancouver Island.
