UPDATE: Additional COVID-19 case confirmed at Okanagan Mission Secondary

(UPDATE: Nov. 23 @ 8 pm): Another member of the Okanagan Mission Secondary community has tested positive for COVID-19. 

According to the Central Okanagan School District, the person is self-isolating at home with support from local public health teams. 

The individual was last present on the campus on Nov. 9, 10 and 12.

(Original Story: Nov. 23 @ 5:35 am): Another case of COVID-19 has been confirmed at Okanagan Mission Secondary. 

The person is self-isolating at home. 

No information about the person, including whether he or she is a student or teacher, was provided.

The person was present on the school’s campus on Nov. 16 and followed safety protocols, the school explained.

“The safety and well-being of students, families, and staff remains our highest priority,” School District 23 explained.

“Central Okanagan Public Schools will continue to implement the strict health and safety protocols and procedures that are in place so students and staff can continue to attend school as safely as possible.”

It added: “As always, we remind people to stay home from school if they show any symptoms.”
