The COVID-19 situation continues to improve across much of the BC Interior, the latest BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) data show.
Kamloops, the Central Okanagan, Vernon, Penticton, Salmon Arm and Cranbrook all logged declines in case numbers between Oct. 10–16 compared with Oct. 3–9.
But some areas – including Keremeos, Enderby, Princeton and Summerland – saw case numbers increase over the same period.
Highlights from the new data include:

Central Okanagan: 171 cases (down from 186)

Kamloops: 118 cases (down from 131)

Vernon: 46 cases (down from 63)

Penticton: 28 cases (down from 63)

Salmon Arm: 41 cases (down from 86)

Cranbrook: 43 cases (down from 77)

Keremeos: 19 cases (up from 7)

Enderby: 20 cases (up from 14)

Princeton: 3 cases (up from 0)

Summerland: 7 cases (up from 1)
Keremeos supplanted Merritt in this week’s data as the part of the Interior with the highest average daily new case rate per 100,000 people – 52.
Other areas with high averages include:

Cariboo/Chilcton: 32

Cranbrook: 19

Salmon Arm: 16
Revelstoke has once again retained its place at the top of the vaccination table, with 86% of residents aged 12 and over fully vaccinated.
Enderby is still bottom with 64%.
