BC has administered over 7M doses of the COVID-19 vaccine

British Columbia is reporting 743 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, this brings the active case count in the province to 5,976. 

From the new/ active cases this is where they come from in each region:


Of the active cases there are currently 319 people in hospital with 149 of those individuals in intensive care. 

In the past 24 hours there have been seven new COVID-19 deaths, this brings the provincial pandemic death toll to 1,922.

Of those deaths; four were reported in Fraser Health, one in Interior Health, one in Northern Health, and one in Island Health. 


There have been no new healthcare facility outbreaks in the province, and the outbreak at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital in Interior Health has been declared over.

After adjusting for age, people not fully vaccinated are 25.9 times more likely to be hospitalized than those fully vaccinated. 


Since December, the province has administered 7,771,314 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. 

Of the eligible people 12 and older in BC, 87.5% (4,053,738) have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 80.0% (3,709,554) have received their second dose.

From the eligible adults in BC, 88.0% (3,805,580) have received their first dose and 80.9% (3,497,809) received their second dose.
