Health officials have issued a warning to the public about the potential for COVID-19 exposure at a “day and night rave” in Surrey, BC.

The event, dubbed as the "Royal Jerk Spot Weekend Summer Fest Day and Night Rave" took place at Royal Beauty Supply and may have been the site of virus exposure on July 31, Aug. 1 and Aug. 2, between 10 pm and 2 am.

The potential for exposure is labeled as “low risk”, but anyone who attended the event on those days needs to monitor themselves for symptoms.

Last week, a similar exposure warning was issued for a hookah lounge in the Surrey area for the dates of Aug. 1 and 2, however, the two warnings are not connected.

On Friday, Aug. 7, BC announced 53 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of active cases to 386.
