BC surpassed a grim milestone over the weekend.
On Monday, Dr. Bonnie Henry reported 22 new deaths attributed to COVID-19, bringing the province's death toll to 1,010.
Officials also announced 1,475 new cases, which brings BC's active case count down more by more than 1,000 to 5,220.
There are currently 358 people in hospital, up nine patients from last Monday, with 72 people in ICU.
To date, BC has administered 59,902 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
As of Jan. 10, BC has now used up all its Pfizer vaccine supplies, however, more is expected to arrive “in the coming days.”
After receiving criticism from two groups of BC doctors and nurses, Henry clarified health official's decision to allow for a 35-day period between the first and second vaccine doses.
"It's a science-based approach that takes into account the limited amount of vaccine we have in the province," she said.
Health Minister Adrian Dix also confirmed that the Vancouver Canucks did cancel a training camp session after a player came back with a "false positive" COVID-19 test on Sunday.
