Health officials reported 694 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, along with one death.
Of the new cases, 153 were in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, 445 were in the Fraser Health region, 17 were in Island Health, 52 were in Interior Health and 27 were in Northern Health.
That brings the province's active case to 6,802, the lowest active number since March 28.
The number of people in hospital with the disease has also dropped to 457, down 46 patients since last Thursday, with 154 people currently in ICU.
Dr. Bonnie Henry confirmed that BC will surpass two million people vaccinated at some point on Thursday.
During the live press conference, Henry reported that a woman in her 40s is receiving treatment in hospital for a rare blood clot reaction linked to the AstraZeneca vaccine.
She said the woman's symptoms arrived about five days after receiving the dose and that she followed up with her family doctor before receiving a blood test.
Henry also said the likelihood of such a reaction occurring is about one in 100,000.
Anyone aged 49 or older is now eligible to book a shot.
As of Thursday, RCMP will begin setting up road checks to enforce the province’s non-essential travel restrictions, with checkpoints at four highway locations.
