A demonstration against COVID-19 restrictions is to be held in Kelowna tomorrow.
It will take place in Stuart Park, opposite City Hall, at 11 am.
That's according to organizer David Lindsay, who is vice-chairman of the Common Law Education and Right Initiative (CLEAR).
CLEAR has previously argued that taxation is “voluntary” in Canada and refers to itself as an “Okanagan-based freedom activist group” with a focus on personal liberty.
The group gives no indication of how many people it expects to turn up for the demonstration.
It claims in a document that COVID-19 is a “scamdemic” and is being used by powerful figures for nefarious purposes.
“We demand our restaurants, bars, stores, and all businesses be instructed they can immediately reopen and to return to normal operating procedures and times,” it explains.
The group also makes claims about COVID-19 that have been contradicted by Provincial Health Officer Bonnie Henry, the World Health Organization and many more official health bodies.

Residents are urged to stay home if they are sick, even if their symptoms are mild, and to avoid crowded places.
When outside of the home, residents have been told to keep two metres apart at all times.
