By the end of the week, 65% of Starbucks locations across Canada will be open to walk-in traffic.

That number will grow to 85% by the end of May.

It won’t be the Starbucks experience you were used to pre-COVID, however, as the coffee chain has put a number of safety measures in place.

When it comes to employees, they will all be required to wear a facial covering if they’re working and gloves are also available to wear, but that will be optional.

Employees will also be required to take their temperature and use the COVID-19 ‘Virtual Coach’ before each shift to ensure they’re ready and able to work.

As for the customer experience, Starbucks will be expanding grab-and-go by installing Plexi-shields at the point of sale.

That will allow customers to place an order inside the store and take it to go, although Starbucks is asking guests to wear a mask while visiting the store if they're able.

The company has also invested in three-hours of comprehensive training for all of its employees to make sure they’re clear on all operational modifications that have been put in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
